The year is 2026, and we’re in Europe, which has been devastated by a zombie virus. There’s also The Resistance – a small militia group that is trying to make ends meet, despite the fast increase in those infected. Soon, a team is assembled to find a young girl that may be the first step to end the ongoing nightmare. Tex (Guy Bleyaert) and his team are dispatched to find the girl…

So, “Transit 17” has a cool cover, it promises wastelands infested with zombies and it also features Silvio Simac, who never really gets any credit for his looks, fighting skills and screen presence. All this was enough to start liking the film…

    However…

It all went it a totally opposite direction. First of all, if we’re promised zombies – we want t see some zombies. In case with this film, “zombies” have almost no make-up and they appear for a total of 10 minutes in the entire film!

Next problem – the language. Yes, we’re in Europe, so not necessarily every character has to speak perfect English, but the dubbing in the film is atrocious. It is especially so with the lead – Guy Bleyaert, who also wrote and directed this mess of a film.

The reason for that we can barely understand what his character is saying is because, probably, his own voice was used for dubbing. What’s the point then?! Why dub yourself with your own voice?  Not only that, but Bleyaert is probably the worst fit for a “team leader” that battles zombies in nearly every sense.

Acting from the rest of the actors jumps from bad to worse and back, so you can get used to it. Speaking of Silvio Simac – he’s completely wasted here as an evil “Commander” that gets into one lame fight scene, and later dies a really ridiculous death. Another wasted film credit…

The production values for “Transit 17” aren’t the best – obviously film was done on a low budget, but everything else really makes you fast forward the whole thing.

No real zombies, not enough action, a blank leading man, no nudity, mediocre directing and pathetic dubbing makes it very hard to like “Transit 17”.
